Wait a minute! After publishing that last post I realize I never officially announced my new book! Last week (March 23) I celebrated the release of my 6th book and first volume of poetry. One Thousand Yellow Butterflies is a collection dedicated to the memory of my mother, Okla Chatman Kenely, who passed unexpectedly 10 years ago.
If I’m honest, I will tell you how my heart has been wrenched these past ten years. I’d tell you how deep my level of depression was and how after her death, I was left helpless and void. It was bad, yall. Real bad!
But with my heart turned to Jesus and a heavy reliance on writing I made it through to brighter days.
This collection is aimed at healing the broken hearted and exploring themes of love, loss and Heaven’s wonder. I’m sure you’ll connect with the poems in some way.
