I’ve been reassessing my career goals. I desire a position in leadership at my current place of employment. It’s not a difficult leap, I’m over qualified to be in leadership. With 20 years of experienced doing what I do, and not one but TWO Master’s Degrees in my field, I can certainly handle the demands of the job.
Over the years, I haven’t done much to secure a leadership position. It’s been more talking about it than working to actually get a promotion. But just yesterday, I learned that there was an opening at my job for the exact position I’ve been dreaming of. I’m in shock, and thrilled.
As I updated my resume and applied for the position, I asked God to have His way. I prayed that, while I want this job, I want my desires to be in line with God’s desires. If the job is for me, remove the barriers that would prevent me from getting the job. If it isn’t for me, give me what is mine.
